OMX Iceland 15 is OMX Nordic Exchange Iceland’s leading share index. The index consists of the 15 most actively traded stocks on the OMX Nordic Exchange Iceland. The limited number of constituents guarantees that all the underlying shares of the index have excellent liquidity, which results in an index that is highly suitable as underlying for derivatives products. In addition OMXI15 is also used for structured products, e.g. exchange traded funds. The composition of the OMXI15 index is revised twice a year. The OMXI15 is a market weighted price index, adjusted by free float. The base date for the OMX Iceland 15 PI Index and the OMX Iceland 15 CAP Index is December 31, 1997, with a base value of 1000. The base date for the OMX Iceland 15 GI Index is March 31, 2004, with a base value of 1000.
OMX Iceland All Share (OMXI) – PI, GI
The OMX Iceland All-Share Index includes all the shares listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Iceland. The aim of the index is to reflect the current status and changes in the market. The index is available as PI and GI. The base date for the OMX Iceland All-Share Index is December 31, 1997, with a base value of 1000.
OMX Iceland Sector indexes (IX) – PI, GI
The OMX Iceland Sector indexes are based on the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) developed by Morgan Stanley Capital International Inc. (MSCI) and Standard & Poor's. GICS is an international classification created to meet investors' demands for more precise, exhaustive and standardized classification. The GICS sector classification is divided into four different levels, comprising sectors, industry groups, industries and sub-industries. The indexes covers all shares listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Iceland and are calculated up to level three (Industry) in each GICS sector. The indexes are available as PI and GI. The base date for the OMX Iceland Sector indexes is December 31, 2004, with a base value of 100.
